Epic Armoury's Faulds and Tassets protect the waist, hip, and upper thigh from attacks that might leave you off balance, wounded, and vulnerable on the battlefield, now moulded in Polyurea (PU) at a fraction of the steel weight. Don't be an easy target for archers and rogues. This armour limits your weak spots without limiting your mobility, thanks to the articulation of its bottom plate.
Because it is moulded rather than forged, the weight drops dramatically, making it ideal for long event days, junior fighters, and performers who want the steel look without the strain. Secured with two adjustable straps over the shoulders and another around the waist, the Faulds and Tassets are designed to be comfortable for almost any size, with a top grain leather belt and canvas straps for easy adjustment and light weight.
Please Note: These are just the tassets, they do not come with the shoulders or chest armour - these must be purchased separately.
Moulded in Polyurea (PU) for a dramatically lighter weight than the steel original.
Protects the waist, hip, and upper thigh against blows.
Articulated bottom plate for full mobility without exposing weak spots.
Two adjustable shoulder straps plus a waist strap, one size fits almost anyone.
Full grain leather belt with canvas straps for easy adjustment.
Rust-proof, dent-resistant, and requires no oiling or polishing.
The strap system handles most sizing on its own, but for a closer fit, you can gently reshape the material itself using heat. Apply heat to the inside of the piece rather than the painted exterior, so the material becomes flexible without damaging the finish.
Finish: The base material underneath the painted surface is black, so over time, scratches and general wear may reveal this black color underneath.
Easy touch-ups: Minor cosmetic damage, such as scuffs or scratches can be simply repaired at home using a primer and acrylic hobby paints (such as Army Painter or Citadel).
Leather care: The leather straps should be maintained like any other full-grain leather product, with occasional conditioning to keep them supple and long-lasting. Read more on how to look after leatherwork here.
A living finish: Wear and patina are a natural part of your armour's lifecycle and can be expected with regular use, adding to the authentic, battle-worn character of the piece.
