The Edward Flat Hat is modeled after the Tudor bonnets and berets common in the 16th century. It’s a simple, rounded hat that was a standard piece of clothing for everyone from wealthy merchants to scholars during the Renaissance. If you're building a kit from that period, this hat provides that specific historical silhouette without needing a complex headpiece.
Epic Armoury chose brushed wool for this hat because it has a soft, matte finish that looks like traditional felt but stays comfortable all day. The wool is sturdy enough to hold its flat shape, but it’s still flexible enough that you can tilt it or pin a brooch to it to fit your character's personality. It’s a straightforward accessory that adds a layer of detail to a costume without being distracting.
Getting the right fit is important for a hat like this, so Epic Armoury made it in four distinct sizes. We've listed the measurements in centimeters, from 56cm up to 62cm, to make sure you can pick the one that actually sits right on your head. It’s a practical, no-nonsense piece of headwear that works just as well for a historical reenactment as it does for a fantasy character.
