Gokstad Shield - 28IN - LARP

The Gokstad Wooden Shield emulates the 10th Century viking shields found on the Gokstad ship. These shields were found the be constructed from a single layer of butted wooden planks, without a metal trim and painted with simple coloured designs.

The Slash Inn Gokstad Shield - 28in - LARP is handmade here at Larp Inn, UK. This product is made from 20mm EVA foam and carved to match the planks used in the original construction. The hand fits into a punch grip at the back, within the cavity left by the boss.

The basic wooden design is versatile, making the Gokstad Shield ideal for a whole range of character costumes and monster kits.

All latex-coated shields need a certain degree of maintenance. For this we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the 'Weapon Maintenance & Repair' section.

'Larp Inn Weapon Lube - Silicone Spray' is an easy, spray-on application, 100% pure and acid-free making it safe to apply. We recommend using silicone on a regular basis. It maintains the latex-coat’s flexibility and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product wear and tear resistant.

Store your latex shield flat on its back. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to prevent your weapon from adhering to other products. Keep your shield in a cool, dry environment.
