Still, as he sits in his chamber as the first light breaks on the horizon dressed only in his simple white robe, he notes how pristine the edge of sword is, how the whetstone has sharpen all notches and bumps. His breastplate is freshly oiled. His calf-suede boots have been rubbed down, the leather supple. He trails a finger across the embossed surface of his belt, noting how the wax has been meticulously buffed into the leather. His pouch is no different.

Maybe he will stay a little longer in the new land.
